The worry : Price of 1 kWh is increasing stupidly.

The problem : during these new”winter months” of free market electricity in europe i had an increase of my electrical bill times 2.5 comparing to the year before… ( and because of Russias war on Ukraine and the sanctions that come with it, Germany now cant rely on Gazprom gas any longer and it might.. could.. WILL climbe up even more of course).
In my lab i was running 2* dl360 G5, 1* dl385 G5, 2* dl360 G7, 1* dl360 G8; that would give: 483.65 SEK/month (when 0.5SEK/kWh); which is not to awful if its my hobby playground ( no beer for me it seems.. ), BUT when the price goes up (went up) things have (had) to change, so i shut down the dl360 G5:s, mmmhh i took away 2.5(increase)96.73SEk/month2(servers) = 393 SEK/mont, but i gladly swallowed the remaining cost 2.5(increase)[109.5]+[45.63*2(servers)]+[23.73] SEk/month = 560.65 SEK/month, now… wait, i had to pay more even though i shutdown 2 electricity hogs.. did i just wrote gladly .. ?
What IF
So if i had only G8:s ? .. ditch the G5:s .. ? /// not looking at replacing the G7s..
blended assorted lab server setup 6 servers on 0.5SEK/kWh is 418 SEK/month ( a year = 5015.4 SEK )
streamlining G8:s lab server setup on 0.5SEK/kWh is 142.38 SEK/month ( a year = 1708.56 SEK )
This would imply i could buy servers for 3000 SEK and get ROI in a normal year, and if the electricity cost is 2.5 times higher 4 months in that year that adds another 2500 SEK to the assorted lab yearly cost
and by now someone ( my wife ) would question the rational of saying my hobby only costs 0.55SEK/kWh so it gets under the level of what a hobby is allowed to cost.. the rational is trying to find out where the breakingpoint of bying other servers is on the ”lowest” electricity price, if electricity price gets pricier.. the ”savings” of getting lower power consumption servers will be even higher, and the payback time is shorter…
and of course i am turning my blind eye on the switches and firewalls… Or the 2 NFS machines.. hmm i should quit bringin up power hungry equipment while im ahead…
